A very good day to you all!

I’m going to once again have to apologise for neglecting our poor little blog, we have been crazy busy with game releases but it’s no excuse and I will strive to keep you up to date in future  - A blog is for life and not just for Christmas!

Yep, you missed those bad puns didn’t you, I can tell.

Anyway, I’m here to share a very cool exhibition we commissioned to celebrate the launch of Pastry Paradise and National Pastry Day here in the UK!

The Exhibition  The Exhibition

The theme for the exhibition was “Modern Wonders of the World” and saw our brilliant bakers creating the worlds first exhibition of edible architecture!

The puns were strong in this one, with crazy creations like the ‘Trifle Tower’, ‘Taj Mille-Feuille’, and ‘Empire Cake Building’ making the final cut. Our exhibition opened at leading London art gallery The Proud Archivist on the 9th December to mark National Pastry Day and will probably go on until the cakes get eaten or go mouldy! :P

Taj eaten

You can see the Taj Mille-Feuille is already going fast (although it does give you a sense of the huge scale, I thought they were real cherries on top at first but they are actually apple-sized!)

The creations are all made as scale models of their architectural inspirations, with the Empire Cake Building towering over the others at a staggering 1.5 meters tall, while the Taj Mille-Feuille is definitely the heavyweight, weighing in at a massive 12.4 kg – That’s a lot of cake to get through! The good thing about being in scale is that our artists were able to do some great work to Photoshop the cakes into their real world locations!

The full exhibition list from some of the UK finest bakers:

-  London Pie and Battenberg Gate by Jacqui Kelly, Totally Sugar
-  The Empire Cake Building by Eddie and Rich, Tattooed Bakers
-  Trifle Tower by Sarah King, Caking It
-  The Taj Mille Feuille by Rose, Rose-Marie’s Cakes & Sugarcraft

A full album of the creative cakes and pastries can be found here.

As I mentioned briefly above, we commissioned the exhibition to mark the launch of our latest release – Pastry Paradise! It’s designed for all you sweet-toothed fans of puzzles, as a match-three game with a few new ingredients thrown into the mix:

-  Diagonal swiping – No longer will you be chained by those dastardly ‘x’ and ‘y’ axis’s!
-  Bake offs – Take on bad bakers in boss battle bake offs (dat alteration tho!)
-  Multiple stages and maps – Explore delectable maps like the Gingerbread Gardens, Wafer Woods, and Mt. Mudcake, all inspired by real life pastry classics!

And the best news? It’s available right now for Android, iOS and Windows Phone!

Right that’s quite enough text for now, or China will be ringing me up to ask for their wall back! Stay tuned for another blog post coming soon, where I will announce the details of our seasonal ‘Gameloft’s Twelve Days of Christmas’ event that will be starting on the 25th December here in the UK.

As always if you have any questions, comments, or just want to exchange animated gifs, hit me up on Twitter @Gameloft_UK, our UK facebook page, or drop an email to ronnie.gameloft@gmail.com.

Take it easy, and remember to be excellent to each other out there.

Ronnie
